The social responsibility project titled “Awareness Study on Legal Fishing and Minimum Size Limits in Recreational Fishing”, carried out by the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Faculty of Fisheries, has been successfully completed. The project was coordinated by Sefer Salih Ayaz, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ceylan.

Within the scope of the project, activities were conducted at fishermen’s shelters located in the central district of Rize and in Çayeli district. Recreational fishers were informed about fishing in accordance with regulations, minimum size limits, and the “catch-and-release” principle. In addition, the Communiqué No. 6/2 on the Regulation of Recreational Fisheries was installed in PDF format on the participants’ mobile phones to ensure permanent access.
