The social responsibility project titled “In the Aquarium Dream Room: Little Hearts, Colorful Fish”, conducted under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma DELİHASAN SONAY, a faculty member of our faculty, and contributed to by our faculty members Dr. Akif ER, Dr. Zeynep Zehra İPEK, Dr. Münevver ORAL KABA, Dr. Mert MİNAZ, Dr. Ayşe KARA and Lecturer Dr. İsmail AKSU as researchers, has been completed. A total of 1521 students and 76 teachers from 22 different kindergartens affiliated with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Education participated in the project. Kindergarten students visited the Aquarium Unit of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Faculty of Fisheries and observed different fish species in the unit, learned about the movements of the fish, how they breathe, how they feed, and had the opportunity to examine fish food closely. Thanks to this project, the environmental awareness, love of animals, sense of responsibility, and curiosity of our little students—who are our future—were supported. The happiness and excitement of the little hearts who met colorful fish became the most valuable outcome of the project.
