In our Aquaculture Collection, which was established in 2012 within the Faculty of Aquaculture of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, there are 400 species in total, mainly inland fishes, together with marine species. 160 of these species are endemic for our country. Our collection, which includes specimens from all 26 large-scale hydrological basins of our country, is growing day by day with the addition of identified and newly identified fish species and keeps a record of our extremely important fish biodiversity by including species that are critically endangered. As of the first 6 months of 2024, a total of 2063 students from many institutions and organizations visited our Aquaculture Collection, which is open to visitors from different segments of society at the point of serving the society as well as scientists.
